  • Some engines (such as ScrubTheWeb.com) require a Title Tag and idealisticly formed Meta tags for the Description and Keywords (see example below).

Note that you would replace all text in blue with the appropriate information for your website...

TITLE Tag:
<title>Your Web Page Title</title>

The Title tag is pretty easy, just don't leave it as "untitled document" or blank. Engines don't like this type of negligence.

Correct, but NOT Idealisticly Formed META Tags:
<meta content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" http-equiv="Content-Type">
<meta content="Your website's description. Written in complete setences, using about 85 to 255 characters." name="Description">
<meta content="keyword, keyword phrase, keywords and keyword phrases, each keyword phrase seperated by a comma, 200 to 500 characters of keywords recomended, you can use up to 1000 characters for your keywords and keyword phrases, keyword2, keyword phrase2" name="Keywords">

-Certain picky Meta based engines such as ScrubTheWeb.com would ignore these in it's lack of program intelligence.

Idealisticly Formed META Tags:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
<meta name="Description" content="Your website's description. Written in complete setences, using about 85 to 255 characters.">
<meta name="Keywords" content="keyword, keyword phrase, keywords and keyword phrases, each keyword phrase seperated by a comma, 200 to 800 or so characters of keywords recomended, you can use up to 1000 characters for your keywords and keyword phrases, keyword2, keyword phrase2">

Unfortunately, this is an obvious flaw in the dilligence of promoting Meta tags, you have to do it their way, or your page won't be found on the super information highway.
